A New Dogpark

Jeff learned that we have a dog park in our town so we decided to try it out and took Diesel tonight. Boy, did he have a good time. It's the first time since we've had him (over 2 years now) that he's been around that many dogs and with soooo much room to run! It's amazing how fast he can go when he's really got room to move.

It was easy to see that he doesn't have a dominant personality - though we knew that already. The other dogs would come up, jumping to lick his face, and he'd just try and run away. I could just imagine him saying "Thanks guys but really, I don't need all these greetings. Let's just run around, okay?" One small dog just would not leave him alone, poor guy. Another owner said that it was her MO - she hounds all the new dogs when they pass through the gates.

I'm glad we didn't bring Zoe. She still chases after Diesel at home, but she would have been one grumpy girl with that many dogs running around and jumping at faces.
